Back in Buenos Aires

On arrival from La Plata, it became clear that I should make haste and organise travel elsewhere forthwith, lest I become stuck in the city. Accordingly, I spent the next day visiting the airlines and bus stations, searching tickets. After much frustration, I plumbed on going to Bariloche, and bought tickets.

This left me with a couple of days to kill in the city. I had not yet seen all of the tourist sights, and thus decided to join an expedition leaving my hostel for Recoleta. Here one finds a famous cemetery, so exclusive that one is not guaranteed a place even if one enters oneself into the waiting list at birth. Many Argentinean notables, including the famous Evita (but not her husband), lie here.

On Sundays the plaza next to the cemetery hosts a large market, which was the real destination of the group I was with. We spent not a small amount of time shopping.

Later that day we decided to walk to the Camanito, in La Boca. As I remarked earlier, La Boca is a little dodgy. The Camanito, however, is tourist central, so fairly safe. It is principally distinguished by its colourful houses.

Soon after my sight seeing I left Buenos Aires for Bariloche.
